The wild forest reindeer or Finnish caribou (rangifer tarandus fennicus) is the native reindeer from Finland and northwestern of Russia. They live in boreal taiga forest and are migrating twice a year from/ to summer /winter pastures. The numbers are around 1500-1900 individuals in all Finland separated in 3 areas.

The safari will take you in to the spirit of the taiga forest . We will follow the trails of the reindeer on foot or by car or snowshoes/skies depending the season. We will be for short time trackers reading the signs on the nature that the reindeers have left behind, dropping, day sleeping places, path,…. and at the end with luck, we will get the supreme chance to observe and photography them.
